Fry Wins 2012 Sappi International Printer of the Year Award

Mechanicsburg, PA - 11/2/12 – Fry Communications has won the coveted designation of 2012 Sappi International Printer of the Year. The 10 winners in the world’s most prestigious printing competition were announced in Johannesburg, South Africa by Ralph Boëttger, Chief Executive Officer of Sappi Limited.  Fry’s outstanding production of Style.com, published by Conde Nast, achieved the highest honors in the “Magazines – web” category.

An independent international panel of four judges chose the International winners from the Regional gold medal winners in each category. With all the finalist entries being of such a high standard, the ultimate winners were those that stood out for the judges as having that extra appeal and attention to the finest detail.

During the announcement, Ralph Boëttger stated, “We honor the winning Printers of the Year for their commitment, creativity and expertise in producing printed works which push the boundaries in terms of technical mastery and innovation. Awards such as these celebrate the achievements of the past two years, but they also point the way forward into the future. They do so by establishing a standard of excellence which others will strive to meet. Sappi is proud to honor these achievements.”

“Becoming an International Printer of the Year is a high honor,” said Mike Lukas, CEO of Fry. “We continually invest in ways to improve our quality, both in training and equipment, and it’s gratifying to be recognized for those efforts.  I’m extremely proud of all of our talented employees.”

“To be chosen as the best printer in the world within this large category is phenomenal. We are absolutely delighted,” said Henry Fry, Chairman of the Board.
