About the Fry Logo
Fry Communications was established in 1934. The Town Crier and its companion dog have been a part of the Fry brand since 1964 when Betty Fry traded advertising in our self-published local Shoppers Guide for a sign bearing the silhouetted duo. She presented it to her husband, Henry, as a gift.
Since that time the Crier has served as a symbol of communication and community. His companion Scottie Dog has upheld his job to signify unwavering loyalty, trustworthiness, and reliability.
In the early 2000’s the Scottie Dog began gaining its independent, cultural identity, and he became affectionately known as Frydo (rhymes with Fido). This identity has held, and most recently, through the imagination and use of AI, he has continued his evolution as our beloved icon.
No doubt Frydo will continue his journey through many future adventures, upholding his job as a friendly symbol of our company commitment to guide and serve our community.
