Fry Communications Adds Finishing Touch with Offline UV Coater
Mechanicsburg, PA - 7/14/08 - Fry Communications Inc. recently completed the installation and testing of new offline UV coating systems at its Mechanicsburg manufacturing campus. The new UV coater will provide high quality flood coat and spot UV capabilities in both gloss and dull finishes as an addition to both sheetfed and web production.
High quality UV augments Fry's existing inline finishing choices by offering an additional option for high end products that require maximum coating coverage and "near film lamination" in optical properties. Offline UV typically offers gloss readings in the 92 to 94 range on a 60 degree gloss meter, as compared to high 70s to low 80s for web-applied UV. High quality UV is also appropriate for commercial, catalog, and publication products requiring various post-print operations such as embossing, foil stamping, and multiple colors that require dry trapping.
